Young Arab Leaders - Bahrain

 


 

The Young Arab Leaders (YAL) has identified that practical experience is essential in preparing tomorrow’s leaders. YAL has developed a program that would assist to develop potential future leaders.

Young Arab Leaders and Youth Development
In efforts to create leaders that will impact the region in the future, YAL will introduce internship opportunities for outstanding talent with significant academic achievements to take place within YAL and its partner firms.

The internships will be made available in many different sectors and will consist of role rotations in different areas in order for the intern to gain full insight into the company and the operations of its different units.

The Target
The target youth will mostly be the previous year’s university students and entry level professionals.

The YAL Internship Criteria
To take part in a YAL Internship Program, the student must satisfy all following criteria:

  • Successfully undergo an interview or more organized by YAL to evaluate his / her leadership skills and opportunities
  • Demonstrate an achievement of some sort (e.g.: lead university journal, lead culture club, drafted a book, or any work in any sector that demonstrates an interest to create change)
  • Demonstrate the ambition in receiving this internship
  • Have an excellent academic standing

 

Upon acceptance, the intern will be asked to state to YAL what he / she would want to achieve from this experience. The program will be administered by the YAL participating members & the employers. It is designed to maximize the outcomes for the employer and intern.

Added Value
As a YAL intern candidate, he / she will be distinctive because:

  • Unique selection criteria ensuring selection of outstanding potential leaders
  • An introductory to leadership workshop led by YAL

Evaluation
At the end of the internship program, an evaluation will take place and lead by YAL, working closely with the employer and the intern to ensure that all objectives were met and intern has developed some skills of leadership.
