Young Arab Leaders and Youth Development
As per the Young Arab Leaders (YAL) mission in improving the state of the Arab World and develop the youth, YAL has created various opportunities to achieve this goal. The youth must develop the skills and knowledge to become future leaders, however, at the current state, this has proven to be a challenge; therefore, the youth would require guidance and support to be able to reach their goals.

YAL Scholarship Program
In efforts to create leaders that will impact the region in the future and in respect to the many difficulties that the youth are facing in terms of education and affordability, YAL will be offering scholarship opportunities for the highly motivated students.

The objective is to help develop potential leaders who would contribute in changing the state of the Arab world positively. The candidates must carry the ability of decision making, understanding the current obstacles that the youth face and demonstrate the desire in making a positive change through his / her education and future working life.

The Institutes
YAL will be working closely with various prestigious institutes to achieve its scholarship targets. YAL will be considering offers and cooperation from universities and colleges across the region.

The 2005 Partnership
YAL has partnered with the prestigious American University of Dubai who have offered 10 annual scholarships starting from the academic year (2005 – 2006).

To be eligible to apply to the YAL Scholarship Program, the candidate must fulfil certain criteria that will consist of two phases.

Phase one:
Satisfy the AUD Academic criteria

Phase two:
  • Personal assessment interview: after first acceptance from AUD, the candidate will then undergo a personal interview with a current leader from the Arab Region. The leader will evaluate the leadership skills and ability to make change.
  • After successful completion the candidate will be granted full acceptance of the YAL Scholarship program and will commence and per AUD instructions. However, if the interview does not fulfil the requirements, the candidate will not be granted the scholarship.

Please note: The YAL Scholarship Program is only available to the candidates who would lack funds for proper education.

  • Continuous YAL efforts ad supervision ensuring the candidate is developing leadership thinking and ambitions. YAL will monitor and offer various exclusive workshops to assist in this development.
