In its continuous
efforts to fulfill its mission in increasing
knowledge and improving the state of the Arab World,
the Young Arab Leaders (YAL) have introduced the
Knowledge Exchange Initiative, which aims to promote
the sharing of expertise between the different Arab
countries, particularly in the public sector.
Knowledge and expertise are vital components of any
process which aims to create an environment in which
youth can develop and flourish as leaders in their
sectors and in their communities.
The Launch
The Knowledge Exchange Initiative was
successfully launched in February in Jordan. The
first initiative is based on the sharing of
expertise between the UAE and Jordan.
Her Excellencey Nadia Al Saeed, Jordan’s Minister of
Information & Communications Technology and member
of YAL, was presented with two seats on the Dubai
School of Government’s (DSG) Harvard taught
E-Government executive education program. Seats on
the course will also be presented to the heads of
E-government initiatives in other Arab countries.
A second Knowledge Exchange initiative will take
place in June 2005 where distinguished candidates
from various investment promotion entities in Arab
countries will be visiting Dubai on an Investment
Promotions study tour.
Targets
Four other programs will be launched in
2005 involving expertise sharing in different fields
of knowledge.
